The new photovoltaic system built in the first months of the year in Villa Selvatico da Porto became operational at the end of March.
The system was created by installing photovoltaic panels on the roof of the Barchessa, after obtaining all the necessary authorizations from the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage.
It has a peak power of 24.5 kW, and is completed by storage batteries that allow storing part of the excess energy produced during the day and then using it at peak times and during the night.
The purpose of the investment, which was made possible by the "Parco Agrisolare" call for proposals of the PNRR, is to produce renewable energy mainly intended for self-consumption of agricultural and agritourism activities, thus decreasing its dependence on fossil fuels and reducing, in a long-term perspective, the overall energy costs of the structure.
